It may be preliminary and a more long-term threat, but Diane Feinstein is
now reportedly pushing a southern bay bridge to alleviate congestion on
the other bridges. This was a plan that was studied and shelved in 1991.

Although the map I saw in the paper the other day wasn't very detailed,
it looked to me like it would come in somewhere around Oyster Point, but
I suppose anywhere between the San Mateo bridge and Candlestick is fair
game.

Another threat to sailing.
