I bought the removeable version, but have not installed it yet. The only
thing that gives me some concern is that it is clearly VERY IMPORTANT to
tightly bolt the uprights onto the part that remains on the car. As
designed, the uprights are held onto the base by a "friction" system. I
can see there being significant uplifting wind pressure upon three boards
at highway speeds. I am thinking of drilling extra holes and running
cotter-pins, or something, through the uprights for extra security.

Anyone ever hear of someone losing an entire Gorge Rack (and three grand in
boards) onto the freeway??
