Monday is the last day to make comments regarding the Recircultaed Draft
Environmental Impact Report that is supposed to evaluate impacts on
windsurfing
that will result from a 600,000+ sq foot building project which will include
buildings as high as 125' above the waterline.

Any comment letter at this point would need to be faxed by Monday at noon so
that I can hand deliver it before the deadline which is the end of business on
Monday, March 8.

Re. Proposed 301 Airport Boulevard Development

The SFBA has already argued that the wind tunnel study conducted is
insufficient. As such, any opinion regarding what an irreplacable resource
Coyote Point is for windsurfing will be relevant.

Other areas to describe/discuss:

If winds are more gusty or turbulent what will sailing from Coyote Point be
like?

If wind velocites are reduced, what will sailing from Coyote Point be like?

If Coyote is lost as an advanced resource, where else will the windsurfers go?
Is there parking or facilites anywhere else to take up the slack?

What is the experience of sailing in very gusty/turbulent winds like? Can you
describe this so a non-windsurfer can get a sense?

What has happened at other locations where buildings went up between the wind
and a launch?

What areas of water off Coyote Point can be sacraficed? The proposed
definition
for impact deals with "irreplacable launching and landing sights" and "primary
board sailing areas". Can you help define what areas are irreplacable or
primary?

Thanks,

Peter
