I'm not sure about the Toyota, but I do have a lot of experience w/ American
vans. My last van, which incidently is now for sale, is a short bed Dodge
Ram 2500. This van has been fantastic. It will store everything you need
and have plenty of room for overnights. The short wheelbase makes it
manuerverable and easy to park. The Dodge is the only US van that still
makes a full size short wheelbase. Mini vans are called that because thats
what they are, Mini! Check it out if you want new, or feel free to look at
mine if your interested in used. Its a '95 w/ 318V8, custom bucket seats,
cruise, soundproofing, and all around pretty luxurious.
I stepped off the van-man loop which I've been driving for the past 15 years
and bought a Chevy Avalanche. Its the new hybrid midgate. I had an
opportunity because of work and taxes so I went for it. So far, I'm pretty
stoked. Things fit inside, though a little more condensed, but wow what a
ride. Good Luck.
