hi guys,
i logged a few calls last night. everything michele moss says on the message
below is true. plus, you'll be calling save the bay members, so they'll be
mostly receptive. the worst part is getting a bunch of answering machines
for every live person and not being in the water. but then again, it's not
that great so far this week and if they fill the bay there'll be sites to
launch from...
give yourself a chance to help.

Thanks to everyone who helped kick off Save The Bay's phone bank last night!
The phone bank is going to be an important effort throughout the summer to
support the Bay Vote Charter Amendment. It's easy and fun, but we can't do
it without you...

PLEASE HELP US NOW AND INTO THE SUMMER TO GIVE THE BAY A VOTE THIS NOVEMBER!

We are calling members in San Francisco throughout the summer, to help urge
SF Supervisors to co-sponsor the Bay Vote Charter Amendment and recruit more
volunteers for what promises to be an exciting, high energy campaign to get
the Bay Vote Charter Amendment passed this November.

Monday and Tuesday evenings, including tonight, June 19th!
5:45 - 9 PM
Save The Bay's downtown Oakland offices*, 1/2 block from BART and plenty of
parking (*we also plan to begin a San Francisco location shortly.)
(510) 452-9261

Snacks, drinks and script provided. Please let us know if we can expect you
tonite!

The Bay Vote Charter Amendment gives citizens a necessary vote over large
development projects that propose to fill in 100 acres or more of the Bay.
Currently, decisions on such Bay fill projects rest with political
appointees with no accountability to the public. This charter amendment
would mean voters have a voice and the Bay finally has a vote! The Charter
Amendment would ultimately mean that citizens will have a vote over SFO's
proposal to fill in up to 1,400 acres of the Bay to move its runways.

Please let us know if we can expect you tonite! If not tonite, let us know
when we can get you started. Please email back, or call Dirk or Michele at
510 452-9261. Also, please let us know if you would prefer a San Francisco
location and what days might be best, so we can get that up and running in
the best scenario shortly.

Thank you for caring about the Bay.

- Michele Moss
