Can anybody tell me

1) where to buy a bootie that is like
a sock with a little non-skid on the bottom, or

2) What kind of substance to smear on the bottoms
of some neoprene socks to make the bottoms
more tacky? Something like liquid rubber.

I agree with Barney Fife that booties are a drag.
They're big, bulky, coated with armor plates of rubber on
the edges that stick in the straps, retain water
from the all sources and
and bulge at the seams, get knocked off while jibing
and get left in the garage. I had a good pair that I
patched up for 6-8 years but now they're gone. I
don't understand what Oneil and Okespor are thinking.
They look like they're designed for backpacking or
something.

I would go without on the coast, but during La Nina I
got home one day to find I had jammed or broken my 3rd
toe and never felt it due to the anaesthetic properties
of 48 deg water.

As long as we're in the off season I might as well work
on my equipment.

Thanks,
Bob
