Actually, that's not quite the whole picture. At levels below 219 there
are some very dangerous sand bars on the windiest part of the south side of
the forebay.

I think a really good fin for San Luis is the Ian Boyd bump-and-jump.
Aside from having a very sharp slope and acting as a good weed fin, it is a
much more versatile fin for all around high-wind, large-chop sailing. I
use the Ian Boyd on my Bic Hip-Hop, and I love it.

Sail there in August and you might have a different opinion. There are
days when I go into the water in the middle of the forebay clean and come
up looking like Creature From The Black Lagoon. It gets pretty disgusting
in late summer.
