Remeber the big fight at Burlingame city hall about building office
buildings just upwind of Coyote Point. I read in today's SF
Chronicle that the high vacany rates have caused the developer to
abandon his plans. They are now considering a hotel, a big-box
retail outlet, or an auto sales mall instead. I gues for wind
killing purposes, the hotel is the worst option. Councilwoman
Rosalie O'Mahoney sait that a hotel and conference center would be a
welcome replace ment for the office plan. Since the site is zoned
for offices and hotels developer would need to get a zoning change
to use the site for retail sales.
