Subject: Baja Drive Report - Brief

Just returned from 3 week trip to Cabo Pulmo, about 20mi South of Los
Barriles. Took
Honda van, spouse, and adult daughter (super-driver). We were well prepared,
thanks in particular to input from WARDOG, Godsey's Baja Guide, Vlad
M., and "Baja Bob" (Galvan)- THANKS AGAIN!

Took 3.5 days each direction from Berkeley, driving only in daylight (with
minor
exceptions). Road, traffic, motels, etc. no problems except for lane
narrowness and very
dangerous/exciting "shoulders". Border no hassle at all, either way
(partly due to careful
timing).

At CP managed to sail 11 of 14 days from beach in front of the two houses
we stayed in,
sail sizes ranged from 5.8 (sometimes OP'd) to 8.7, water conditions from
major swells to
"Bay Area chop". Usually just me and one other person - in this National
Marine Preserve scenic area. Saw many jumping manta rays and a sea lion,
for starters.

Happy to share details. Probably will return next year, but may have to
find someone else to drive with...... :)

Alternative would be to fly Alaska Air to Los Cabos along with my gear
(done twice to
Kona, but no experience with Alaska Air - comments welcome).

    David
