If I understand what you mean correctly, I had the
same problem a couple of years ago. I thought about
taking it to a sail repair place but the ones that
were recommended were a long way from where I lived.
I bought myself a big fat needle, and tried to fix it
myself. But the webbing was too thick, and I had no
luck. In the end I took it to South Beach Canvas on
pier 40 in SF, and she fixed it for me on the spot in
about 5 minutes for $5. There are a lot of these
canvas repair shops scattered around, and if your
problem's not with the sail part of the sail, I bet a
lot of them will be able to help you.
