<<I was told that there is a move to create a specific kite area
downwind of the Access>>

There is an area called "little Baja" which has a new carpet and great
carpeted steps leading into the river. It is made for kiters.

In general, I think Sherman is a tough place to learn because of the narrow
area to practice and high windsurfing traffic. I did take lessons from
Bruce Sheldon, and he has a great teaching system, which includes water
proof radio. Using the radio Bruce is able to give you just in time input
and keep you good and safe. I can not begin to imagine learning the sport
of kiting without lessons.

Dport was very fine yesterday. South swell, about shoulder high,
occasionally bigger, smooth water (5.2/8'6", 200#), a bit light on the
inside, perfect on the face of the wave, sea weed making for very smooth
water - it was fun avoiding the seaweed as you dropped in. Much like
avoiding rocks in a steep chute. A bit crowded.....to be expected on
sunday.
