Numero Uno: Got to His Lords around 2:30, drawn by rising winds on iWindsurf. Guy was rigging 5.2 and it was blowing nicely. However, I measured with anemometer, eyed some large holes, and went with my 6.7/98L combo (short board was compromise in case it really was blowing). Made one decent run out and then hula/slogged all the way back. Very fortunate to avoid swim.

Numero Two-o: Jones'd a while and then it appeared to be coming up again (see archive, it was). Decided to go all out, so rigged 8.7/144L combo. Got on water just after 5PM, had nice run out, and then hula/slogged back, but at least not too worried that time. Can't believe I so expertly caught both wind down-ramps.

Numero Three-o: Did notice the enhanced bouquet of the water due to the sewage spill of several days ago. My aquaintance Bill P., who never launches from His Lords (always the docks), joined me for first time expressly to be further removed from the likely hotspot. My strategy was to keep my mouth closed as much as possible, and since I hardly sailed, it probably worked.

Upside (yes, there was one): While rigging 8.7, Vlad, one of the Big Boy racers I know fairly well (L-1 sail #), stopped by and offered several useful rigging tips. One, to wax your downhaul line to ease process, seems particularly insightful. He was passing by with young baby in stroller, keeping an eye on his co-racer wife out on the water.

OTOH, maybe he knew something about the wind?? :)
