<< How was Davenport? >>

Friday the 13th was good to me, but not so for my friend. The wind was light
but enough for a 5.3ish with smooth faced waves and some great sets. The
wind got a little light at the end and my friend got too far down and
couldn't make ground. He came in at the beach south of the bowl and got
nailed in a shore break chopping his mast in half. I came in at the reef
beach and went to help. He was OK but the scary thing was that he borrowed
my sail and I thought it was shreds. But alas windsurfing equipment is truly
amazing and it came out unscathed.
I explained to him about upwind shlogging technique and it should help next
time.

Saturday was really great until about 5:30 when the wind died. The waves
were remarkably better and pumped up. The wind was steady 5.2 and the water
was fairly smooth on the waves.

Its been a good Spring. Like the old days, none of this el'nino crap.
T.
