there was a fatality near deadmans in the 50's, but nothing at OB for the last
25 years. I've been cleared out of the water at mid beach once because of an
alleged sighting, but never saw anything myself. I'd guess that OB has been
seal free for many years because of the urban proximity, and any sharks that
hit something there are hopefully either dead or have moved on to greener
pastures.

I'm certain there was one at Baker Beach, just west of the GGBridge, and
I'm pretty sure the other was at Ocean Beach. Both were long ago, in
the 50's.
