I haven't been by since it was closed so my memory may be off, but as I
remember you took North Access Road then a left (where the big yellow gate
went up). Drove out on the dirt (a dump--literally), found a place amid the
garbage to rig and took off.

The initial excuse used to close the area was national security due to the
fuel tanks that are in the area. It was supposed to be for the duration of
the Gulf War.

I do not know if the yellow gates are still there or the exact location of
the Fex Ex builing. Prior to the gate going in cement freeway barriers were
put up but they managed to move, allowing access.
