Counted over 30 participants in the storm front fest yesterday from about
11:30-1:30. I wore out just before the rain, so that was fine. Sailed out
of Ashby with step-daughter Amy. Extremely flat speed course, but paid for
it with the gustiness, some perhaps provided by the Emeryville towers I
expect (wind shadow model?).
Was on my 6.7/278 combo (rigged in a bit of a lull) which was probably just
right on average, considering the holes and not counting the controlled
slams I "enjoyed" when the 35-40mph gusts hit. Most were sailing over in
front of the Berkeley docks, probably enjoying the reflected shore break
due to the SE winds.
Great winter session!
