Crissy was excellent today. I heard that it was good yesterday.
I was on a 7.6 and a Mike's Lab (190#).
The water outside the gate was silky smooth, but the water off the launch
was very rough ebb chop. I sailed outside the gate and by the South Tower
for the session.
Crissy has blown almost every late afternoon for the last couple of months.
However, it is often mandatory to sail with a big sail and a big board.
Often the COTW reader average is wrong, as the wind line is often 20-50
yards off the beach.
The "gust" reading seems more accurate for the wind in the channel.
Today, we sailed till past sunset. This has been the norm rather than the
exception.
Does anybody have the latest information on setting up a safety pack? I
figure that we should carry one when we sail near sunset.
