1) A article in the April issue of the Journal of Podiatry indicated that
wearing rubber-soled shoes in salt water can lead to chronic exima,
bacterial infections, corns, and tender feet.
2) A recent joint study conducted by the Scripps Oceanographic Institute and
the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) found that rubber can have
detrimental effects on marine ecosystems, including decreased fish
population growth, algae malformation, and blembs.
3) A double-blind research study conducted with over 200 participants by the
Hood River Windsurfing School showed that 9 of 10 bootie-wears were actually
able to jibe after taking off their booties.
