On my kick ass Sunday bike ride, the pager kept letting
me know that the wind was building. Made plans to hook
up w/Joani (the hot wife;-) at Coyote around 2pm.

When I got to the beach, the wind was jammin' from
a strong NW direction, as people were sailing almost
parallel to the shore. As I was rigging, the wind was starting
to shift to a more Westerly component and getting a bit fluky.
There were a lot of high level clouds overhead creating a ring
around the sun.

Joani went out on a 4.8/8'5" and did the hula for 1/2 an hour.
While she was sloging back I rigged her a bigger sail/board combo.
She went out again on 5.7/9'6" and got slammed pretty hard. She
tried to hang on, and did an admirable job, but this kit was just
too big for her. She sure did go fast though......Came back and put
on 4.8 on the big board - this was perfect for getting out past the
big holes, a bit big (board) at times for the building swells. She continued
to rip for 3.5 hours, getting more brave and fast as the session
progressed. All that skiing in her background made Jo really
suck up the mogul, oops...swell, on the way out. She was doing a
great job of surfing the swell on the way back in. Is there anything
more sexy then a hot woman sailing?????

Through her session the wind seemed to be getting more steady.
The high level clouds cleared away and the sun came out. Felt
just like a summer day. Joani comes in at 4:45pm and says: "hey,
that was about an hour long session, right? You will be back in
1 hour to let me go back out??" The sexy smile made the 3.5hrs=1hr.

I went out on 5.7/9'6" (207#). Nicely powered the entire time. The swell
were building nicely in the channel. Sailed until 6:45 - solid wind the
entire time. When I was done tearing down my stuff and sucking
down beer #2 (around 7:30) the wind did not seem to be backing off
at all. A great day was had by all.

"Standing here
The old man said to me
Long before these crowded streets
Here stood my dreaming tree
Below it he would sit
For hours at a time
Now progress takes away
What forever took to find"
