For whatever reason, my e-mails re: Davis Point directions don't seem to be
making it to wind_talk (or have been delayed by 20 hours). I'll try this one
last time.....

The following URL is a Mapquest Map which should show how to get there from
Rodeo:

(hopefully, this will work)

>From the map, go over the train tracks, take a left, and park at "Joseph's
Fishing Resort" (which looks to be abandoned). The launch is 100 or so yards
down the trail at the big windswept eucalyptus. It's either a park or public
land. Nice and sandy beach.

It's a little light inside, but the wind picks up about a quarter mile out.
The swells pick up big-time about a mile out. Look back while heading out to
memorize the launch from the water - it all looks the same from way outside.
Watch out for the hydrofoil ferries - they move fast. Be prepared to save
your own ass if needed.

If you go, post your opinions and observations - it'd be nice if we could
figure out what weather and tide patterns are optimal. I think the more
sailors there the merrier (and safer).
