Which is what happened to me.

Don't know whether the low-stretch polypro was on my '96 Interface, but,
from my observation, it was the head-cap itself which had the sharp edges
and prompted the failure of the webbing. Due to the minimal clearance
between the strap at the front of my sail and the bottom of the head-cap
(I use a 400 cm skinny mast), the strap was rubbing right against the
bottom of the head-cap. For the record, the remaining piece of the
original webbing failed yesterday when rigging this sail, which wasn't
touching the head-cap at all. Sounds like the webbing had a problem, too.
