The Palo Alto launch (behind the airport) is very accessible. From Fremont,
just shoot across the Dumbarton Bridge (reverse commute so light traffic) and
head down 101S to Embarcadero. Head toward the Bay and you will run into a
group of windsurfers at the end of the road (pass the Duck Pond). The only
major disadvantage is that the site is not very friendly during low tides so
time it right. The launch is off a dock and there is a fresh water hose
available there as well.

Wind is ususally a 2-5 knots less than at 3rd and much less chop.

Hey, wasnt there an article a couple of years ago that mentioned
a sailing site at one of these Salt ponds in Union City? Ask
Luigi about it? ;-)
