- You might try a different fin. I find that control problems often a
case of either a too big fin causing the board to "tail-walk" or that
the mast base is too far back. Personally, I like glass when it's
nuking. It doesn't plane real quick, but I think the weight & control
is much nicer. Of course, I've never sailed a "really" small epoxy
board.

- You won't get anything for $136 other than another old glass board.
If $$ are the most important factor you might look at the various Tiga
boards. I don't own one, but I've liked all the ones I've demo'd and
some people on this list swear by them.

- If you have $500-$600 to spent you might look for a used Seatrend
8'9". I saw one in Berkely windsurfing the other day. I really like
mine.
