After reading reports from last week I was anxious to get
just-one-more-sesh in this year. I didn't really want to finish painting
the house anyway. Did some trim work, it was looking breezy, so off I
went. The only problem was had to meet with friends by 5:30 in Mountain
view (NIN and Bowie that night). Would I be able to pull myself off the
water? Would I even get to sail!!

Headed to Coyote because I knew 3rd would be mighty muddy. Got there at
2:00, nothing going on so I waltzed over to ASD to pick up a Wind
Tracks. When I got back it seemed to be picking up, so I rigged a 5.6
(as big as I go). It was filled in pretty good by the time I got on the
water at 3:00 with the Tiga 260. I was even a bit on the edge for a
while. Kept an eye on my watch, but didn't really need to. At 4:15 it
died. Luckily I had felt it getting lighter and was heading in from the
race marker when slogging took over. At least 10 others joined me in a
collective hula to the launch.

The wind gods came forth with exactly what I wanted. I wanted that Wind
Tracks (hadn't bothered to stop at a shop all summer), I wanted to be
hooked in and planing, and I really needed to be off the water by
4:30. Mission accomplished. Never been so happy about one hour on the water.
