Justin,
I'm glad to see your not a "Man survives 18 hours in water" story on the
news. The self rescue stuff about de-rigging is pretty consistent. I prefer
to sail in if possible. Bill Lide(sp) has a great idea of tieing a spare mast
base nut in the mast track to your extension (after the uni/screw/starfoot
breaks). He is working on a "elegant" safety device to deal with those
annoying little uni-related breaks.
