Subject: Re: Camping/Sailing at Marin sites

Hi Geoffrey,

You asked about camping near the Tomales, Bodega, Tubamancha sailing sites
in Marin and Sonoma C.

There are several great camping sites on the Marin coast. However the season
is almost on the coast. This time of year the N S pressure gradient is
usually too far offshore for the wind to fill into the beach even if the
buoys and the NWS forecast calls for small craft advisories. Most days there
is only fog until very late in the afternoon. Those great 3.0 to 5.0 days are
in March to late June or early July. The winds are very reliable and easy to
forecast. The best camping is at Bodega and the conditions are very scenic.
No reservations. You can also camp at Dillon Beach and at Olema. Or take a
chance and camp along the road at Grassy Point at Tomales Bay.

Give me a call at home and I will give you details.
