Friday 6/23: 4:00 - 7:00. There was NO wind (and no roof racks) at the normal
launch but there were plenty of sails at the North Tower of the bridge..hhmmm
Everyone was launching from the old Coast Guard Station (now it is the
Gorbachev library) just west of Crissy Field. The wind was full all the way
from the beach out to the bidge :) Sailed on a 5.5 Race sail and 9'0" Epoxy
slalom (185 lbs). OP'd most of the time, especially at Marin's Ft Baker where
it must have been blowing 4.0 weather and very flat water. You could easily
have launched from this side.

Saturday 6/24: 3:00 - 6:00. The wind was a little lighter but pretty much the
same conditions as Friday. This time I used a 5.5 Wave sail. Much more fun.
I tried to drive to the coast but the HWY 92 Pass was a parking lot and it was
100 degrees plus..not fun for a pregant wife and 18 month old.
Did anyone sail the coast?

Sunday 6/25: 3:00 - 6:00. Nearly the same conditions as Saturday only there was
PLENTY of wind outside (West) of the Bridge. It was beautiful to sail on this
open body of water, with rolling swells, scenic views and fully powered :) Of
course I was sailing with a buddy!!

EQUIPMENT FAILURE STORY; While sailing towards the North Tower I heard a
metallic SNAP and looked up to see my 2 year old Chinook boom completely
sheared about 3 inches behind the rear harness line. Luckily I was able to flip
the sail and was fully powered all the way back to the beach, under escort by
the lovely Diane Younger :) Question: Should the Boom have broken in this spot?
It doesn't seem to be high stress point. Does Chinook have a warranty?
