I call Windsight when I don't recognize the current weather pattern and
I want a prediction - basically getting a second opinion. As far as I
know, COTW is only current conditions. For me, knowing that it's nuking
in Rio right now is not much help since it takes nearly two hours to get
there; I need to figure out in the morning where to *be* in the
afternoon. Windsight is sure not perfect, but I find it helpful to get
their predictions.
When I think I know what's going on, I don't call, so I don't use
Windsight often enough to have much feeling for their accuracy around here.
When in the Gorge, I do use Windsight for current conditions, because
conditions change quite a bit over a relatively small distance.
The three weeks I've used them there, their morning predictions in the
Gorge seemed to be good, but the evening predictions for the next day
were worthless.
