NO WAY! Not for the bay area. I weigh 225lbs, and rarely rig my 6.9
race sail. My 6.3 is usually big enough for those light days. I
wouldn't go bigger than 6.2 or 6.4. The newer slalom sails are very
stable sails, too. And you don't neccessarily have to go to a race sail.
Making a jump from wave sails to full on race sail might not be
consistent with you style of sailing.

Rushwind makes a Convertible line, which are designed for the specific
wind range it's expected to perform in. The smaller ones are more bump
& jump oriented, with the bigger ones being more slalom oriented. The
big sizes that you might be interested in are 5.7 with 2 cams and 6.3
with 3 cams. All the cams are internal (to the luff sock) and
removable, so you can rig the sail with a number of different
combinations of cams, or none at all. Windsurf Warehouse carries
Rushwind. I think Helm does too. Of course, Windwing, North, etc all
make some sort of convertible sail too (I'm just a Rushwind fan).

Or find something used at one of the upcoming swap meets. There's
usually someone selling sails that are only a year or two old.
