Sorry to continue the thread one last little bit, but I was wondering if
anyone knew how to adequately waterproof the flares you get from West
Marine? I went through my safety pack this winter, and the flare didn't
work, probably due to water intrusion. I think that the kit sold at ASD
has wax dripped on the ends of the flares. Is this adequate? How
frequently should I replace the flares? Is doesn't seem like annually is
enough.
