Unfortunately I have to agree with Jim. I too have had more
Fibrespar booms and masts break on me, than I can count on my
two hands. Sure, they honored their warranty every time, and
even refunded my money once I got sick of the <break, swim, ship,
patch mast sleeve on sail, wait> cycle.
I just got fed up in the end. The only Fibrespar products I use
now are their base extensions, which I've had good luck with, and
one '94 boom that I use when sailing my slalom gear in SF Bay(a
handful of times in '94). I've had much better luck with Nolimitz
masts and Chinook booms with zero breakages all season (I sail the
Santa Cruz coastline).
