Subject: Coast Guard Rescues

If anyone (besides JRunge who reported this to me) attended the SFBA meeting
Sat. night knows the Coast Guard's position on recent rescues, I'd appreciate
hearing the details, and what was discussed. Apparently, they're not happy
with the number of rescues they've had to perform so far this season.

I am curious, however, how many boat rescues they perform compared to
windsurfers. I was reminded of this yesterday at Coyote when I noticed a
powerboat drift right into the sailing area which had to be towed out by the
Coast Guard. Although I'm not usually amused by the misfortunes of others,
it was kind of interesting to see a powerboat being rescued in the middle of
10's of windsurfers blazing by them.
