a 1005 mb low is currently about 500 nm west of san francisco and
heading eastward through tuesday afternoon. southerly winds will
increase ahead of the incoming storm with gale force gusts from
point sur to point piedras blancas (nr San Luis Obispo) on tuesday along with periods
of rain and isolated thunderstorms that will last into wednesday.
