Wind has been strong but gusty SW for three fucking weeks now!!!
I was jonesing so I went anyway. Wind was strong on the
beach but light on the water for the 12. I'm not sure I had
it adjusted for full power, however.
On my second reach, I put the kite in the water and could not
relaunch! Well, actually, I relaunched it twice in the next hour,
but each time I couldn't get my bar untangled quickly enough to
control it. Once, I got planing on my back as the kite did loops.
Both times it hit the water hard but survived. I finally landed
east of Inktomi. I actually managed to wind up my lines and
make a graceful and undamaged exit over the rocks at high tide,
so I had to consider the day a success, as Inktomi visits go.
All the kiters and windsurfers agreed it was rotten, except for Pierre.
He found good wind in the channel from 6 to 7.
