I use a Yakima rack with my 1996 Eagle Talon. I haven't needed any kind
of extention. The front rod goes about 3 or 4 inches back from the top of
the windshield, and the back rod right at the end of the door's window
opening. I haven't had any problems, it has been very stable.
With the curve of the roof, the board is very close to the top of the car
in the middle, and no, the moonroof will not open.
