Just FYI, you can do the same thing with the Dodge Grand Caravan with the
quad-seat options and add a mountain bike and gear bag to boot! I know, I
did it for several years. Boards up to 8'10" or so fit diagonally under the
driver or passenger seats (depending on which quad is removed, I did the
passenger side) with smaller boards stacked on top and sails stashed
underneath the boards with a small PVC rack I made. No boards have to go
between the front seats, only long masts need to. The newer Caravans have a
center console which might need to be removed.

The upside of the Honda is the hide-away rear-bench. Unfortunately, even
with the rollers, the rear bench in the Caravan is a major PITA to remove.

I agree with another poster, full-size vans are the way to go if parking and
mileage aren't an issue. My extended Ford van (customized by Sportsmobile)
can fit all this stuff *inside* plus 3 kids and 2 adults including the
driver. You can probably drive around with 5 adults in there, but I've
never tried. Plus, I've got hold and cold H20 (16 gal. tank), sink, fridge,
entertainment system, and room to sleep 4 fairly comfortably with all the
stuff inside.
