What did you find in testing the board fit of the SUVs? >>

My 8'6 fit tucked behind the seats of the Ford Expedition, the Tahoe XT, and
the Suburban, but one of the best and the nicest rides was the Toyota Sequoia
(its also a little shorter). None of these get great gas mileage. The new
GMC Envoy is a really nice midsize SUV that handles great and has really good
gas mileage/ performance ratio. My board fit into that if it went along the
side of the front seat. I was almost tempted to go that route because its
such a nice car, but its gross vehicle weight rating is only 5750 lbs. I
had to buy a vehicle that had a GVWR of 6,000 lbs or better to take advantage
of the 20K -1st year tax right off for my company. Otherwise, I would have
gone with a slightly used Expedition '99 - 01 because Ford hasn't really
changed anything in the engine or design that much, and you can get really
good deals, but I ended up going a different route.
