I weigh 230 and usually sail a 6.5 NOA with a Fiberspar all carbon
boom with either a 26.5" wide custom mega mutant (6.5 to 8.8) or a
24" wide custom Mutant for 5.0 to 7.5 The current ASD Design for the
standard Fat Mutant is 25" wide.

I use slightly negative outhaul if it is really light and I add
maybe an inch of positive if it gets windy. This gives me nearly a
meter of range... I usually start with max downhaul and loose
outhaul so I can subtract a half meter sail size if windy or loosen
the downhaul if light to make the sail "bigger". I can do both
these adjustments on the water.

I'm starting to believe it is better to not have loose outhaul as
that seems to make it harder to pump, but it could be technique that
I need to improve.

Anyway, I doubt the NOA's have changed that much in one year and
they don't need much outhaul.. IF you pull them too flat, they'd
have no power and they sail small to begin with due to the 7
battens. Perhaps the other designs are different??? Sailworks
Retro's seem to sail larger (6.0 Retro seems about equal to 6.5 NOA)

Hope this helps... BTW, carry a radio if you sail out more than you
can swim in. My boom breakage is now double digits.
