Borderline epic at Coyote also. Doesn't get much better!!!! Sunday
I sailed my fun board (ASD Fat Mutant) on typical sail 6.5/Medium
board (24" wide)and could have been on 5.5 in channel (230#)

Last 4 days @ Coyote Thurs May 17: 5.5/ 24"W board - 2 hrs, died
back at 5PM, 30 min schlog in from channel Fri May 18: 5.5/ 24"Wide
Board - 1 hr, 15 min schlog in Sat May 19: 6.5/26.5" Wide Board,
50cm fin - 1 great hour when many thought it would be too hot. Sun
May 20: 6.5/ 24" Wide board, 1 hr 45 minutes before exhaustion
(what happened to off shore winds? Monday - planned day of rest...
we shall see.

4 good days in a row. This might be a great season!

Observation. Some people need to review the right-of-way rules.
Being young, going fast and sailing with friends does NOT give you
the right of way. "Right Hand Toward the Mast" has the right of
way. I had the right of way Sunday and had to bear off downwind
quickly to avoid a collision with one jerk racing some of his
friends. I was on a small board and coming in, I had NO power to
try to head up and he didn't show any sign of seeing me or bearing
off... I got the finger for "interfering" with his fun race...to
avoid a collision. Another budy said he "ran into" these same
jerks. He said they laaater actually hit someone after doing the
same near collision to him....

Suggestion to Call of the Wind People: Make EVERYONE review the
right of way rules to see the screen perhaps every 3 months... This
would be a good public service.

  1. Rule #1: Avoid a collision at all costs 2. Rule #2: Don't
break rule #1 3. Rule #3: Right hand toward the mast has the
right of way (Starboard tack - sailing in at PA, 3rd and Coyote -
has right of way) Remember people coming in from channel at these
sites often don't have much power to head up so you have to make
sure you bear off to avoid them. Don't try to get upwind of them
unless you are SURE you can do it early without slowing them down.
You are RESPONSIBLE to make sure they know you see them and are
  yielding the right of way.

Friendly advice, don't be giving the finger to someone 230# who has
been lifting weights all winter after taking his right of way. Lets
try and keep this sport friendly.
