Yesterday was the single best wave sailing day of my life. 4.7/8'6"
(210lbs), fully powered. Mast high + sets with long periods. You know the
waves are big when you are behind the wave and can't see the mast tops of
guys riding the wave. Even a wave rookie like myself was able to read the
sets and catch incredible rides.

Both upper and lower reefs were firing. The waves were so big and good,
that surfers were enjoying the upper reef waves: sharing rides with
windsurfers. No kitters at Dport, unlike Waddell which was kite city when
I drove by. They were busy putting up the contest tents/bleachers when I
drove by on the way home. The waves seemed much smaller @ waddell.

The south swell, coming from the raging storms in the south continent, is
awesome. San Carlos must be going off...can't wait to hear bottom Bob's
report when he gets back.

Wish I could be on the coast today.
