Saturday, March 31 is Safety Day at Coyote Point sponsored by Coyote Point
Yacht Club. CPYC has been a strong ally in dealing with SFO's plans to shut
down windsurfing with new runways.
(to see why they aren't needed, go to www.sfba.org/sfo.htm)

Safety Day will include a simulated helicopter rescue and a chance to shoot
off out of date safety flares to see if they really work or not. CPYC wanted
us to be aware of the helicopter operations so that we can stay clear.

> Good Morning Peter,
> Thank you for your return call earlier this a.m. re: Coyote Point YC's
"Boat Safety > Day" March 31st. Between 10:30 and 11:30 AM, a Coast Guard
helicopter will
> perform a "person in the water" demonstration north of Coyote Point
Marina's
> breakwater, possibly 300 - 500 feet off shore. Exact Latitude and Longitude
> coordinates are not available at this time, however, we want you
> to know that it would be hazardous for board sailors to operate in this
vicinity
> during this period..
