Tomales was 3.0 to 3.5... classic Tomales Spring with a turbo boost. About a
dozen people showed up at Marconi but more than one passed because they
didn't have the gear. The early session was very overpowered on a 3.5 but
steady. As the afternoon went on the gusts were just as strong but there were
holes dropping in. The ouside swell was big and wide... great for OP jibes. I
called it quits when I had to try five or six times for a water start to get
back to shore from the middle because I was so overpowered. Definitely fun,
but today I'd probably be more ready for 5.0 at Candlestick.

Both the launch near Marconi and the launch at Grassy Point are on private
properties that are for sale. I have been talking with the National Park
Service and encouraging the purchase of Grassy Point. The last I heard, they
were going to make an offer on Grassy Point. The Marconi property is trickier
and the indications are that the State Park might aquire it if they had 50-50
matching funds.
