I saw this article in today's Chronicle.

A new report confirms what seems obvious...
SFO did not fully consider alternatives to bay-fill.

Unfortunately it looks like there may be a new politician on the airport
expansion scene too. To quote from the article...

"According to the Los Angeles Times,
 however, the Bush administration plans to
 speed construction of additional runways
 at major airports across the country by
 expediting reviews of their environmental
 impact. "
