My wish list:
1. A wind meter / talker / sensor on an outside buoy or channel marker,
paired with a GSM phone. It would send readings every 15 minutes over SMS to
Ken Poulton's server (for free) and to iWindusrf, for a fee :-)
2. A web cam
3. A payphone right on the bycicle path, next to the bench we people sit
waiting for the wind, next to the gravel rigging area, next to the main
Coyotee windsurfing parking lot. Important: this payphone must accept
incoming calls!!! I would call that number from work, the bell would loudly
rings and the nearest sailor would pick up the receiver and tell me if it
really blows and I should cancel all meetings due to sudden illness or the
wind talker screwed up again and I'd better stay in the office pretending to
work. (What's better: a day working or a day shlogging?)
4. A launch at the Eastern part of the lot (drive-in cinema). Now, there is
a tiny lot used by fishermen^H^H^Hpersons. It would be nice to be able to
launch from there.
5. Also, a sort of skilift would be useful. It would tow you back on shore
from the outside when the wind suddenly dies :-)
