I like ASD...been a customer for years.

You have to be patient as some want them to drop customers buying $1500 boards
and full rigs to buy a $12 foot strap. Tough to give personal service and keep
prices down.

Go when not busy if you want a ton of help and they are great. Sometimes even
if YOU want to buy a $1500 board, they might be more interested in talking
about yesterday's sailing with the regulars... This is GOOD as it keeps it
local. Support the local industry!

 ASD's BIG, FAT beginner boards are great for learning but the bay has
"ripples" that seem logo high when you are learning. Alameda is probably
worse... I would suggest Shoreline Park in Mtn View if they are still open for
teaching.

BTW, wind is side onshore in beginner area at Coyote most days. If not, don't
sail!
