Tim,

There is a wavesailing spot about 70 km from Tarifa. I was in Tarifa last
year in July. It was windless, but I hear the wave spot is good when it
blows. Ask a shop person about the wavesailing spot, I can't remember what
it's called. There's lots of windsurfing hotels on the beach run by the mfrs
like Mistral, F2, etc., or you can stay in town. When we went there, we
went into a bar and just asked the bartender where a good place to stay was.
He hooked us up w/ a hostel that was nice, clean, and about $20/night.
Don't know how much the windsurf places are to stay, probably more as I
would imagine they include gear.

The town of Tarifa is amazing. Also, Morocco is a great day trip if it's
not windy, there are tour boats that leave from Tarifa or Gibraltar. We
took a guided tour to Teotuan (sp) and Tangiers. Teotuan was super cool
Morrocco with an awesome Medina. Tangiers is a dump and I wouldn't
recommend it.

Subject: Tarifa

I am going to Spain in September and thinking about doing a little
windsurfing. Any adivce on the following topiccs:

- Where are the best areas to sail? Are there good places to check out
outside of Tarifa? Preferably bump and jump or some wave sailing.
- Where are good places to stay? Nothing fancy - the closet to windsurfing
the better.
- Where are good places to rent gear?

Any other words of wisdom from people out there?

Tim
