yeah, I've often puzzled over what to do at the end when the wave
breaks in wet sand.
last trip, I got it!:

Bottom turn, launch off the lip, go aerial, land BEHIND the wave (no
extra effort required cuz the wind is so offshore), on a broad reach
parallel to the beach, plane away and jibe. it's so sweet! long ago
when I was a paddling surfer, we'd call that a Flying Kickout.

  
and about getting blown at Harbin, well sometimes it comes up. 8)
