hope everyone had a chance to get some of that amazing wind. The Gurs
packed the truck and headed up to Sherman on Fri night: the forecast and my
simply observations from the Oakland hills all pointed to good wind. Got
to the access at 9pm and rigged my stuff to the light of the full moon (or
almost full). Cold beer, moonlight and rigging, life is good.

The entire evening our truck was rocking back and forth.........from the
wind. I got up at sunrise and it was windy as all can be. I go out on
4.7/8'8" enduro (205#) and get spanked going out. Back in for 4.3/Open
Ocean (8'2") Tri fin. Amazing That a dude my size is powered on this tiny
set up. The ebb was good, the ramps were building, and until 7:30, Erik
and I are the only ones on the water. The wind keeps building all day
long. Joani goes out on 3.7/8'2" and is VERY powered to op'd most of the
time. I think she was the only woman who sailed that afternoon. By 3pm,
it's now 3.7 for me. The water is just a mess of frothing white caps and
big rolling swells. When you make turns/slashes, the spray from the turn
is overhead. I shot some Video of Erik and it looks rad: backlit spray
w/small set up - looks cool.

The evening session, through sunset, was one of the best ones over. I was
perfect on the 3.7 and had so much fun slashing the swells and jumping
them. It was warm and there was almost no one on the water - one of the
few times when being a big dude is nice.

Sunday was much more mellow: 4.7-5.3 sailing. No one in our camping area
was up until well after 8. All the bodies were sore, coffee was consumed
in large quantities.
