Does anubody know if kite surfing is rather popular in Europe?
(and in France in particular?)

Is there kitesurf.eu :-) site?

Is equipment available for rent at most windsurfing places?

How expensive is the equipment there, to buy? Cheaper than here?

What type of board is more popular: kind of smallish surf board (one has
to remove feet from straps when jibing, as on a windsurfer) or a symmetric
board, kind of a wake board (feet are fixed in booties/bindings similar to
water skiing, it goes left or right, no foot changing when turning)?

Thanks
