I'd be interested to see the letter from BCDC, if anyone has a way to forward
it to me. Greg Harris' observations that BCDC is listing possible
mitigations and not specific conditions sounds realistic. This does put
pressure on FC toward working with us to secure continued parking on the old
access road route. A good next step might be a letter (and possibly a
petition from sailors who live in FC) to Foster City referencing the BCDC
letter and reiterating SFBA request/proposal that the city seek a longer term
arrangement for use of the old access road area from Caltrans. This might
include a modest offer of financial support. I would be happy to help
prepare, if Greg, George, or others will take the lead.

Finally, I can understand Pierre's, and other's frustrations about the loss
of parking and rigging at Third, but I can assure you, it is not a plot
against windsurfers. These are things the FC staff is legally complelled to
do and they have actually taken some trouble to reduce the impact on us
(although they always could have tried harder). I wouldn't be suprised if
staff from FC subscribes to windtalk and reads what is said. So, to be most
effective in getting what we want, we should try to understand how these
things work from their standpoint, and be diplomatic.
